The DC Employment Justice Research Project

Course Time: M 8:55am -- 11:35am

In this community based research project we will conduct oral histories with people experiencing homelessness in Washington, DC. The interviews will focus on their personal histories with education and employment, the barriers they have faced finding work, the conditions they have encountered while working, and the difficulties they have had making ends meet. We will produce a website that includes excerpts of these interviews that highlight the major themes that emerge from the oral histories we conduct. The project is part of a larger effort that seeks to tap into the power of personal stories and testimonies as a mean to facilitate community reflection and mobilization for economic justice.
