Partner Collections: Gender and Sexuality Library

Center for Diversity & Inclusion Gender and Sexuality Library:

The Gender and Sexuality Library officially became a partner collection of the American University Library in 2009. This partner collection is located in the Center for Diversity & Inclusion in Mary Graydon Center room 201 and is fully searchable through the ALADIN catalog.

Borrowing Policies:

The Gender and Sexuality Library has over 1000 items. The borrowing policies for the different types of materials available are as follows: 

  • Books - AU Borrowing Only - books can be renewed up to 3 times online, but must then be brought back in person to renew
  • Reserve Books - in-house only - consists of 1 shelf of non-circulating books and display books
  • Periodicals (magazines and journals) - in-house only, non-circulating
  • DVDs (LGBT-themed, including feature films, television series, and documentaries) - 7 day checkout - DVDs must be renewed in person; a maximum of 2 DVDs per series can be borrowed at any one time

How to Check Out Materials:

Patrons may check out materials directly from the Center for Diversity & Inclusion that include books and DVDs. Materials checked out should be returned to he Center for Diversity & Inclusion; however, if the office is closed, materials can also be returned to the library.

Overdue fines must be paid at the library.
