In Fall 2009, American University Library and the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and Ally (GLBTA) Resource Center began their partnership to make the Resource Center's collection available through the ALADIN catalog.
The GLBTA Collection has approximately 1200-1500 items. The borrowing policies for the different types of materials available are as follows:
- Books - AU Borrowing Only - books can be renewed up to 3 times online, but must then be brought back in person to renew
- Reserve Books - in-house only - consists of 1 shelf of non-circulating books and display books
- Periodicals (magazines and journals) - in-house only, non-circulating
- DVDs (LGBT-themed, including feature films, television series, and documentaries) - 7 day checkout - DVDs must be renewed in person; a maximum of 2 DVDs per series can be borrowed at any one time
How to Check Out Materials:
Patrons may check out materials directly from the GLBTA Resource Center that include books and DVDs. Materials checked out should be returned to the GLBTA Resource Center; however, if the office is closed, materials can also be returned to the library.
Overdue fines must be paid at the library.
