Music Library: Faculty Services

Library Instruction:

Library instruction sessions tailored to specific research topics or assignments may be requested by sending an e-mail to the Music Librarian or using the online request form.

Reserve Books and CDs:

Materials relevant to coursework - library-owned or personal copies - may be placed on reserve for a semester. Contact the Music Librarian or the Music Library Specialist with the list of materials for reserve, the course number and title, and desired duration of the reserve period.

Digital Audio Reserves:

Streaming digital audio reserves are available for AU classes with required listening assignments. The requests should be submitted on the Digital Audio Reserve Request Form in print to the music library service desk. Please consult the Digital Audio Reserves Policy for details.

Borrowing Consortium CDs:

Some sound recording titles from other WRLC libraries (listed in ALADIN) may be borrowed through the MUSICSHARE program for educations, class-related purposes. To request these materials, please contact the Music Library Specialist at (202) 885-3524.

Borrowing a Camcorder:

We have two Flip Ultra camcorders available for faculty use (e.g., to record a lesson or rehearsal). The camcorder circulates for a period of three days. Library staff can provide basic support and help with burning videos to DVD or displaying them on the library's TV. Contact the Music Library Specialist to reserve a camera.
