AU Prof. and Author Available to Comment on IMF/World Bank Annual Meetings
World leaders and private financiers descend upon Washington, D.C. this weekend for the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank. Robin Broad, co-author of Development Redefined: How the Market Met its Match and expert on globalization and development at AU’s School of International Service, says there are alternatives to the free-market approaches used for decades by the World Bank to try to catalyze “development.” Broad and her co-author—husband John Cavanagh, who directs the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington, D.C. —will be attending the meetings and will be available to comment throughout the weekend. What Does the Bailout Mean? Ask the Experts
America's economic crisis continues as Congress works to pass a bailout bill to stem the damage. American University experts are available to comment on the current bill, the efforts of Congress and what the economic crisis could mean for small businesses, average Americans, and the U.S. economy. George Guess and Bob Carroll, of SPA's Center for Public Finance Research, can comment on the bailout bill and its details, while Kogod School of Business professors Robert Losey and Leigh Riddick and others are available to comment on the economic ramifications of the crisis. The Final Presidential Debate: Ask the Experts
John McCain and Barack Obama will meet head-to-head on Wednesday for the final presidential debate of this campaign.
