American University Tax Experts can Discuss the Fiscal Cliff and its Potential Effects on Taxes
WHAT: Tax Experts to Discuss the Fiscal Cliff and its potential effects. American University Kogod Tax Center experts are available to discuss the tax implications that would result if the United States were to fall over the so-called “fiscal cliff”.
WHO:David Kautter, is the Managing Director of the Kogod Tax Center and Executive in Residence in the Department of Accounting and Taxation. Kautter also served as Ernst & Young's Director of National Tax, the chief operating executive for the firm's national tax practices.
Professor Donald Williamson, is the director of the Masters of Science in Taxation degree program, and serves as executive director of the Kogod Tax Center.

WASHINGTON, D.C., (August 29, 2012): The “Fiscal Cliff” as it has been termed, will go into effect at the end of 2012 with the expiration of the sequestrations under the Budget Control Act of 2011 and the Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act of 2010. The result of the expiration of these acts could be disastrous for the US economy and for taxpayers. Professor Don Williamson and Dave Kautter are available for interviews and regularly appear in the media to discuss the current tax issues facing the American public.
