This annual collaboration between the AU Symphony Orchestra and AU Chorus is a real celebration and involves over 130 instrumentalists and singers performing on stage. This concert will feature two conductors: Yaniv Dinur, AU's director of Orchestral Activities, and Laura Petravage, AU's choir conductor in residence.
The program will open with: Nänie, a poem by Heinrich Schiller set to beautiful music by Johannes Brahms. The main piece on the program will be Verdi's Four Sacred Pieces—a monumental piece which is a combination of two worlds: sacred music together with what Verdi was most famous for—opera.
