ACE Military Programs Since 1945, the American Council on Education (ACE) has provided a collaborative link between the U. S. Department of Defense and higher education through the review of military training and experiences for the award of equivalent college credits for members of the Armed Forces.

American Legion The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic, war-time veterans organization, devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is a not-for-profit community-service organization which now numbers nearly 3 million members, men and women, in nearly 15,000 American Legion posts worldwide.

Outreach to IRAQ-ERA Vets by IRA-ERA Vets Vets4Vets is a non-partisan veteran organization dedicated to helping Iraq and Afghanistan-era veterans feel good about themselves and heal from any negative aspects of service and war through the use of peer support.

Servicemembers Civil Relief Act While protecting the United States during the war on terrorism, some servicemen and servicewomen may face difficulty in meeting certain financial obligations at home, such as rent or mortgage payments, if they are activated for military duty. HUD has taken steps to ensure that service members protecting our country do not suffer the added burden of worrying about the loss of a home.

Soldiers Project We are a group of licensed mental health professionals who offer free psychological treatment to military service members (active duty, National Guard, Reserves and veterans) who have served or who expect to serve in OEF and/or OIF.

Vet Centers Vet Centers provide readjustment counseling and outreach services to all veterans who served in any combat zone. Services are also available for their family members for military related issues.

Wounded Warrior Project The mission of the Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower wounded warriors. This is accomplished by:

  • Raising awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women,
  • Helping severely injured service members aid and assist each other, and
  • Providing unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of severely injured service members.
