Student Newspaper, The Eagle, Places Second in Competition

The EagleAU's very own student newspaper, The Eagle, placed second in Best of Show at the annual Associated College Press Newspaper Workshop in Washington, D.C., last month.

Editor-in-Chief Anne Godlasky, a senior journalism major, heard about the workshop competition prior to attending and chose to submit the February 9, 2004, edition to be judged. The winning issue can be read on-line at: http://www.theeagleonline.com/main.cfm/include/displayIssueArticles/issue_date/20040209.html

The Eagle is published Mondays and Thursdays during the academic year and several times throughout the summer.

Convention Best of Show awards are on-site competitions open only to those publications attending each convention. Contest guidelines vary from one convention to the next - contest forms are sent with convention registration confirmations or are available at the convention registration desk. The Best of Show entries consist of one copy of a newspaper from the current school year, one copy of a magazine or yearbook from the previous school year or a single broadcast program.

Congrats Eagle staffers!
