August 2005
Campus is buzzing again. That's not to say campus has been quiet since May, with several summer sessions, and the Katzen opening last month. But the calmer business of students moving about this summer has been replaced this week with hoards of students flowing through Mary Graydon Center, the Terrace Dining Room, and out on the quad again. Opening convocation will be held tomorrow, Friday, with Student Goverment President Kyle Taylor, and Scholar-Teacher of the Year Richard McCann delivering personalized welcome remarks to kick off the new academic year.
Sure, saying goodbye to yet another summer is always somewhat sad. But it's also fantastically exciting. The whole back-to-school prospect brings with it a sense of freshness that's tough to rival — from making new friends, to sharing summer adventure stories, delving into new classes and never-before-covered topics, and just sporting those new pens, clothes, and shoes bought especially for this once-a-year occasion.
All the best-
