Regional Alumni Chapters Get Ready for 2006

Phoenix alums who gathered last December look forward to a vibrant year ahead with more Arizona alums coming to events as news of the new chapter spreads.

Alumni chapter leaders across the country are getting ready to fill their calendars for the upcoming year. With chapter meetings already planned in New York (October 4), Seattle (November 10), Phoenix (October 27), Boston (November 8), Chicago (November 17), and Denver (October 25), more dates are being scheduled daily for regional planning meetings.

"As a new chapter, we know we have only reached a small percentage of alumni in our area so far. The chapter is looking forward to connecting with more fellow Eagles and planning great events for the next year," says Sarah Moss, SOC/BA '01, Denver chapter leader.

While the types of events being planned range from chapter to chapter, one thing all meetings have in common is an interest in recruiting more volunteers.

"We are definitely looking for people to step forward into all sorts of roles within the chapter," says Stephanie Weiner, SPA/BA '97, Seattle chapter leader. "I want to leave the door open for people to volunteer to help with one event or for people who are looking to make more of a commitment to the chapter."

Last year, various regional alumni chapter leaders organized and hosted events including an arts brunch, dinner & discussion with a special guest speaker, baseball games, happy hours, mentoring programs, and community service projects.

If you are interested in planning events or volunteering, please plan to attend the planning meeting in your area.
