Reel Journalism Festival Scheduled for March 23 -25
The
School of Communication, in
partnership with WAMU, the Newseum,
the Center for Social Media,
Visual Aids Electronics, and the
Dart Society, presents
a weekend of exceptional films depicting the world of journalism—from
the newsrooms to the battlefield—and featuring special panel discussions
by leading journalists and distinguished American University alumni.

D.C. premier of Democracy on Deadline: The Global Struggle for an
Independent Press with producer and director Cal Skaggs.
- Good
Night, and Good Luck with a discussion to follow called “Where
are Tomorrow's Murrow Boys?” with veteran journalist and XM Radio
Host, Bob
Edwards, SOC/MA '72, Nick Clooney, and Casey Murrow.
- Premiere
of DATELINE AFGHANISTAN: Reporting the Forgotten War with producer
and director Bill Gentile, and War Photographer with a discussion
following called "War Torn: Covering Conflict" with director
and producer Christian Frei, Bruce Shapiro, Bill Gentile, Scott Wallace
and Lori Grinker (author of AFTERWAR: Veterans from a World in Conflict).
