March
2006
Earlier this month, on March 3, the U.S. Senate Finance Committee staff
hosted a meeting to discuss nonprofit governance. To assist in this
discussion, AU provided a report on actions taken to improve
governance, trusteeship, and internal management. If you'd like to view this
report visit: http://www.american.edu/governance/index.cfm.
Interim President Kerwin visited with NYC alumni on March 2 at the Penn
Club in Midtown Manhattan. There was an excellent turnout and I enjoyed
seeing old friends and meeting some new ones.
The cherry blossoms are out in full force in D.C. right now - a sure sign of spring and
renewal. Speaking of renewal, it's time to make your pledge to the AnewAU
campaign by April 30, the close of AU's fiscal year.
With the Katzen Arts Center bustling with activity at the corners of Nebraska and Massachusetts, we're now focusing on two other important building projects: a new the SIS building and renovating the McKinley building for SOC. Campus has never looked better,
and these two building projects will benefit students and faculty for
many years to come.
Happy Spring!
Cheers,
Carey Earle, SOC/BA '88 |
