Complete Pre-Registration Planner

The Pre-Registration Planner is an online tool that all new first-year students complete in order to register for courses in the Fall. The Planner introduces university requirements, the General Education program, and course recommendations based on intended majors.
In addition, the Planner gathers important information from students that directly aids academic advisors to provide specific and personalized feedback about intended first-semester schedules.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many credits should I sign up for?

You must take a minimum of 12 credits to be considered a full-time student. Full-time tuition covers 12-17 credits, or four to five classes, per semester.

How many classes do I need to meet my financial aid or scholarship requirements?

Full-time status is required to maintain eligibility for financial aid, many scholarships, on-campus housing, and insurance. However, please review your individual offers and awards carefully, as some may require more than 12 credits each semester.

Should I take my classes all on the same day?

Try to spread out your class selections throughout the day and week (e.g., do not pick only Monday/Thursday courses). Also, if possible, avoid scheduling more than two classes back-to-back. Seek variety in your schedule in terms of lectures, seminars, and labs, as well as in courses that are heavy in reading or writing.  Allow for a minimum of 10 minutes between classes.  This is more than enough time to get between classes anywhere on AU's main campus
