Eagle Involvement Awards Spring 2015


Geet Jeswani

Under Geet's leadership, ATV has grown its community and viewership. Geet intentionally worked to broaden the diversity and interests of ATV members while raising the quality and variety of station content. In addition Geet led the highly-successful referendum for student space on MGC 3.

Isabel Moua

As a sophomore, Isabel Moua was instrumental in chartering EagleThon at AU. EagleThon is a dance marathon that supports the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital by raising funds and awareness. Because of her dedicated effort, over 150 students attended along with a few miracle children and their families. The event raised $17,043.95.

Jackie Breuer

Jackie serves as the chair of the Student Today, Alumni Tomorrow committee. As the inaugural chair, Jackie developed and trained student leaders and prepares them for leadership roles as active alumnus. Jackie plays an integral role in soliciting gifts to American University as part of the Senior Class gift.

Kirby Howell

As director of Women's Initiative in the 2014-15 academic year, Kirby Howell has been instrumental in creating a cohesive executive board that will have a lasting and positive impact on the greater campus community. Through her vision and leadership, Kirby brought great educational programs such as "I heart female O", and interesting speakers to campus including Janet Mock.

Pope Lake

Pope served as the committee chair for the Men of Empowerment and Excellence inaugural Black Male Summit.As an executive board member of the Men of Empowerment & Excellence, Pope was instrumental in designing the purpose and event schedule for the spring 2015 summit.

Rachel Ternes

Rachel has built bridges between the United Methodist Student Association (UMSA) and a number of other student organizations including AU Queers & Allies, the Student Worker Alliance, Fossil Free AU, and the Interfaith Council.  Rachel has taken an active leadership role in organizing the UM chaplaincy annual Alternative Spring Break trip to Cherokee, N.C.
