Performing Arts grant

The Student Activities Performing Arts Grant was created to help offset the costs associated with student organization use of AU performance venues including Katzen Art Center and Greenberg
Theater. Student Activities understands that rental costs of these performance areas are a deterrent to student organizations’ use of these venues. The Performing Arts Grant enables recognized student
organizations on campus to apply for additional funds to offset charges incurred for facilities usage at AU performance venues.

Guidlines for Grant

1. All events must be open (but not necessarily free) to the entire AU community.

2. Funds may be requested to offset the cost of space rental, as well as any associated fees, of using an on-campus facility (i.e. lighting and sound).

3. The event must take place in a university-owned facility, including Main Campus, Tenley Campus, and the Greenberg Theater.

4. Preference will be given to Student Activities recognized performing arts organizations and those applying at least three weeks in advance.

5. Events must be in accordance with all Student Activities policies and procedures.

6. An organization may receive up to $1,000 maximum in funds each academic year.

7. Funds granted will be allocated by JV transfer once the actual expenses have been incurred.

8. Events must be approved by the Student Activities Advisor for the organization.

9. The application must include a proposed rental agreement and/or confi rmation that the space is available for the proposed date.

10. All organizations receiving Performing Arts Grants must meet with their Student Activities advisor within two weeks after the event. At this time receipts for expenses will be reviewed, and the JV transfer of funds will be processed. Additionally, an assessment form will be completed. This meeting will last approximately 15 minutes.

11. All publicity for a funded event must include the Student Activities Performing Arts Grant logo and be reviewed by Student Activities. Funded events will also be included in ongoing marketing
developed by Student Activities.

12. The Performing Arts Grant committee will not sponsor two programs at the same day and time.
