Each year, AU observes Asian American/Pacific Islander Heritage Month during the month of April, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of the Pan-Asian communities.

Holi 2014
Sunday | April 6 | 2 PM | Quad | Sponsored by South Asian Student Association

Holi is the Hindu festival of colors. Come celebrate the arrival of Spring with free samosas, tons of powder, and water guns! Naiem Reza will be the DJ for the afternoon, so get ready to hear some awesome South Asian beats, throw colored powder on your friends, run around the water guns, and help "decorate" AU's Quad! Typhoon Haiyan and Environmental Justice Fundraiser
Thursday | April 10 | 8 PM | MGC 247 | Sponsored by AU United Methodist-Protestant Community, AU Eco-Sense, and the Philippine American Coalition

Join the AU United Methodist-Protestant Community, AU Eco-Sense, and the Philippine American Coalition to learn about the impact the devastating Typhoon Haiyan had on the Philippines, why we should still care, and why climate change is an environmental justice issue. A $5 donation to the U.S. Philippines Society is requested, which will go directly to victims of the storm. Filipino Food will be provided. 6th Annual Hawaiian Lu'au
Sunday | April 13 | 6 PM | McDowell Formal Lounge | Sponsored by the Hawaii Club

The Hawaii Club will be hosting their 6th annual Lu'au to provide the AU community with authentic, Hawaiian cultural experience. Traditional Hawaiian food will be served for dinner, and there will be a live band playing along with educational activities and hula performances by students and professional dancers.

CDI Presents: An Intimate Talk with Suman Raghunathan, the Executive Director of South Asian Americans Leading Together (SAALT)

CDI welcomes the new Executive Director of South Asian Americans Leading Together (SAALT), Suman Raghunathan, to campus in honor of Asian American & Pacific Islander Month! Join CDI for a roundtable discussion with Suman as she shares stories of her professional journey, plans for moving SAALT forward, and topics surrounding the South Asian community. Spring Festival: A Celebration of World Cultures
Thursday | April 17 | 6 PM | MGC 1-5 | Sponsored by International Student and Scholar Services 

The Spring Festival will provide a platform for all international students, scholars, and AU student organizations on campus to proudly showcase their individual cultural backgrounds inherited to the AU community. There will be cultural performances, a fashion show, music and dance, and an international cuisine and dessert buffet. $5 admissions. Please purchase your ticket from ISSS by April 9th.
