About Heritage Months

Every year, American University observes and celebrates campus-wide heritage months. In collaboration with student organizations, departments, faculty and community organizations, the Center for Diversity & Inclusion coordinates programs and events that educate the campus about the histories and cultures of these communities, as well as raise awareness about current issues affecting them. Annual programs include keynote speakers, discussions, film viewings, and social and cultural showcases.

The Center also compiles all of the events produced and planned by student organizations, offices, and departments across campus. To be added to a particular months list of events, please fill out the below form. To see a list of events for each month, please click on the separate months below the form.

If you are interested in the Center co-sponsoring any of your events, please make sure to fill out our co-sponsorship request form.
