Danny Kelley Ph.D
Coordinator of Greek Life

The Coordinator of Greek Life is responsible for advising the fraternities, sororities, Greek governing bodies and Golden Key Honour Society and Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society at American University.

Danny received his Bachelor of Arts degree in communication studies from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, a Master of Science degree in college student personnel services counseling from the University of Dayton, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in educational management and leadership from American University.

Danny began serving as the Coordinator of Greek Life in the fall of 1997.  Prior to his employment at AU, Danny served as the Greek Advisor at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County from 1995-97, while also serving as the house director for one of the fraternities at the University of Maryland, College Park.  From 1990-1995, Danny was employed as Director of Risk Management and Insurance Services and the Director of New Member Development for his national fraternity, Phi Kappa Tau.

Prior to entering the college profession, Danny worked as a hotel general manager.  He also worked as a stage actor in several local professional productions.

Danny is a member of the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity.  As an undergraduate, he served as chapter president, social chairman, and secretary.  As an alumnus, he has served his fraternity as chapter advisor and board of governors chairman.

 


Tracey Drayton
Assistant to Coordinator
of Greek Life

As the Assistant to the Coordinator, Tracey primarily advises the AU Panhellenic Association (PHA) and oversees the council's daily activity. She is also responsible for assisting the Coordinator of Greek Life with all day-to-day functions of the Greek office.

Born and raised in Detroit, MI, Tracey obtained her Bachelors in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Michigan in 2000. She is currently pursuing her masters degree in Higher Education Administration from The George Washington University. Prior to pursuing her graduate degree, Tracey served as a full-time staff member at the University of Michigan Newnan Academic Advising Center from 2002 - 2006. In 2005, Tracey's love for web development prompted her to start a web design business, The WebSource, where she is currently the sole proprietor.

Tracey is an active member of Zeta Sigma Chi Multicultural Sorority, Inc. She is a founding member of her chapter at the University of Michigan and has served on her sorority's national board for almost six years. As the current National Director of Undergraduate Affairs for Zeta Sigma Chi, she is responsible for advising the sorority's undergraduate chapters.
