BEST GREEK WEEK BANNER EVER


Each team is responsible for creating a banner to hang on the Bender Arena parking garage by 12 noon on Monday, March 31st.
The following should be included on the banner:

TEAM NAME (an appropriate pop culture reference)
LETTERS OF EACH CHAPTER ON THE TEAM
“BEST GREEK WEEK EVER”


Greek Week/GAP points awarded:
100 GW points/ 20 GAP points


All banners must be in good taste. Absolutely NO vulgarity, profanity, nudity, or distasteful materials will be tolerated. Chapters that fail to comply with this rule will be required to take their banner down and will be disqualified from the event.


Please note: Do not hang your banner directly in the center of the garage because the official Greek Week banner will be there.

 

PRESIDENT’S RECEPTION

President Kerwin’s Reception will be held on Monday, March 31st from 5:30 – 7:00 pm at the President’s Office Building and Patio.
The President’s Office Building is the white building on the north side entrance to campus.


Chapters must have pre-registered for this event with Danny Kelley by Monday, March 24th.

 

KEYNOTE SPEAKER PANEL

A keynote speaker panel will be holding a discussion on Monday, March 31st from 7:30 – 8:30 pm in the Kay Spiritual Life Center.
This is a SIGN IN and SIGN OUT event.

Greek Week/GAP Points Awarded:
DOUBLE GAP points will be awarded by percentage of chapter. Please see the guidelines for chapter percentage and points awarded.
DOUBLE Greek Week Points will be awarded by percentage of your team that attends the event. For example, if 75% of your team attends, your team will receive 150 GW points.

 

Information on Panel Participants

Tiffany Sanchez

Proud member of the Pi Gamma chapter of Chi Omega fraternity at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Tiffany served as Chi Omega's Panhellenic Delegate for two years and as the Panhellenic President for one year. She also was elected by her "pledge" class as the "song chair"!
Tiffany graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1995 with degrees in English Literature and German. From Albuquerque, she traveled to the mid-West to study College Student Personnel at Bowling Green State University. During her time as a graduate student, she served as the Assistant Director of Student Activities for Greek Life at Heidelberg College. She graduated from Bowling Green in 1998 and joined the AU Office of Campus Life as the Director of New Student Programs in 2001 after a short stint in the nonprofit world running orientation programs for Youth For Understanding International Exchange.

Dr. John Doolittle
Proud member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He attended Northwestern University graduating in 1963 as a Radio-TV major. In his freshman year, he pledged Delta Tau Delta....at that time 85% of the undergraduates at N.U. were Greek. He served as an officer of the Delta Chapter, treasurer, for two years. He also represented the fraternity in the campus interfraternity council and became an officer of that group. In addition to Greek life he was also active in student government.

Dr. Gail Short Hanson
Proud member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma fraternity. Gail is Vice President of Campus Life at American University. Since 1997, she has provided senior executive leadership for 15 departments that support student learning and development. Dr. Hanson has spent more than 30 years in higher education administration, including 14 years as dean of students at The George Washington University. Prior to coming to AU, she was an organizational consultant in the Office of Postsecondary Education at the U.S. Department of Education, where her unit won the Secretary’s Quality Reinvention Award. Dr. Hanson earned her B.A. from the University of Wisconsin, where she was social chairman and chapter president of Eta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity. Following graduation, she served for a year on the Kappa House Board. Later, as a student affairs professional, she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Task Force on Ethics and Values. Dr. Hanson holds a M.Ed., M.Phil. and Ph.D. in sociology from The George Washington University.

• Visit our table in MGC to participate in Penny Wars
• Go to Armand’s with a flyer to help raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital
