Student Accommodation Statement

Student accommodations will be the same each semester, unless there are changes in the disability, and related needs are discussed with the Director.

It is recommended that students make an appointment to meet with all of their professors as soon as possible at the beginning of the semester. Students should take their letters to these meetings. At the meeting, the following should be discussed:

  • accommodations you are eligible to receive and how they apply to the course format
  • responsibilities you and your professor will each share in order to receive/provide outlined accommodations

If you have questions and would like to speak to someone regarding the Accommodation Letter Request application, please call the Disability Support Services at 202-885-3315 or email at dss@american.edu.
