AU
Queers and Allies
AU Queers and Allies, formally known
as At Least 10%, is a university-recognized,
student-run organization created to
help lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender
students find common ground and form
community within the university setting.
AU Queers and Allies provides a safe
and fun environment for students to
explore their identities, make new
friends, and learn about the diversity
within the gay, lesbian, bisexual,
and transgender communities. The group
organizes social events, sponsors
guest speakers, educates politically,
advocates for campus GLBT issues,
and provides access to the many activist
and service organizations within the
gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender
communities in Washington, DC.
Mission
Statement: Social and political organization
designed to both promote visibility
and awareness of GLBTA issues on campus
and in the community and to provide
safe space for peoples of all sexual
orientations at AU.
Meetings will began at the start of
the fall semester. Check back for

AU Queers and Allies
Lambda
Graduate Student Group
The Lambda Graduate Group addresses
concerns particular to GLBT graduate
students on campus and in academic
and social settings. It sponsors
faculty and graduate student lectures,
holds social gatherings, discusses
university policies, and actively
works to create a more GLBT-positive
campus climate.

Lambda
Law Society
This organization of GLBT law students,
faculty, and staff is available as
a source of friendship, support, public
education, advocacy, and activism
at the Washington
College of Law. Events include
speakers on the current state of GLBT
law, presentations on being out at
work and in the job search, as well
as informal discussions of topical
issues, social gatherings, and advice
on navigating the intricacies of law
school.

Gay
and Lesbian Faculty/Staff Network
The presence of an active and visible
lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender
faculty and staff group at AU demonstrates
members' commitment to GLBT issues.
The group holds social meetings, supports
faculty research and staff projects
with a GLBT focus, discusses university
policies and procedures, and creates
strategies to combat homophobia and
heterosexism on campus.

Alumni
Network
The Alumni Network is an informal
organization dedicated to meeting
the needs of GLBT alumni of American
University and improving the campus
climate for current members of the
campus gay communities. The Alumni
Network holds social meetings and
also supports the work of the GLBTA
Resource Center on campus. If you
