Testimonial from a Past Interns
"American University provided, perhaps, the best residences for student/interns in Washington, D.C. My time there was extremely enjoyable and I met some great people. Each and every room was clean and well-maintained, demonstrating that American University cares about providing a safe environment for its residents."
Derek Andrews, Syracuse University College of Law - 2009 Intern
"I found American University's campus to be one of the nicest I have ever visited. Prior to my visit to Washington last summer, I had never stepped a foot on a college campus. However, when I saw AU's, it looked exactly as I imagined a university campus would be - exactly like in the movies! Following that trip, I have been on many different campuses in both the US and the UK, and American University's still remains at the top of my list. As for the residence hall in which I lived, each floor had a common room with a TV which was used very often and the many showers and toilets on each floor meant that there was no line in the mornings to use these much needed facilities. Outside, there was a lot of green spaces and inside there was also a gym with a pool, both of which were used often. I have always been told that food at college is not the best, but American University's dining hall has a great variety of foods to choose from. Pizza, pasta, salads, hamburgers and ice cream are all available which means two things: there is definitely something everyone will enjoy and there is variety so that you can have a healthy diet by eating different foods throughout your whole stay.
On the whole, I had a wonderful stay and my room, which I shared with one person, contributed to this. I thought there would be small rooms but they were quite big and each person gets a bed, a desk and a closet. I look forward to returning to the American University campus this summer again."
