Read the Housing Application and License Agreement

Carefully read the Housing Application and License Agreement. This is considered a legal, binding contract, and includes a number of important provisions of which students (and parents) should be aware. For instance, if you do not notify Housing and Dining Programs by a specific date that you will not attend American University and/or live on-campus, you may be subject to a significant cancellation charge. Sign and Submit the Housing Application and License Agreement

After fully reading the Housing Agreement, complete the online Enrollement and Housing Application. Be sure to fill this out completely, as it will help to determine where and with whom you will live next year, as well as whether you are paired with a smoker or a non-smoker, and whether you live on a special interest floor. During periods of high demand for on-campus housing, it may also determine whether you are assigned to a double or a temporary triple.

By signing the application, you indicate that you have read and understand the terms and conditions of the Housing License Agreement and agree to be bound by them.

Send Your Tuition and Housing Prepayments

New incoming Freshman and Transfer Students: Send your $600.00 non-refundable tuition ($400.00) and housing ($200.00) prepayments with your Enrollment Agreement, directly to the Office of Admissions. Housing preference will be given to early decision freshman who submit their prepayments by February 1, and to regular admission freshman and transfer students who submit their prepayments by May 1. All other housing applications will be considered on a space-available basis.
