Housing & Meal Plan Termination Information
If you need to terminate the Housing License Agreement and/or Meal Plan Agreement in the middle of the fall semester or prior to the spring semester, you must go through the Housing License and Meal Plan Agreement Termination process.
Entering into a Housing License and Meal Plan Agreement with Housing and Dining Programs at American University is no different from entering a lease with an off-campus apartment complex and you are held financially accountable for either of those obligations.
We are currently offering the opportunity for students to terminate the Housing License and Meal Plan Agreement for the spring 2010 semester with no penalty until November 1, 2009. After this date students will be subject to cancellation charges as outlined in the Housing and License Agreement.
You can obtain the Housing License and Meal Plan Termination request form from the Housing and Dining Programs office in Anderson Hall or you can download it here. There is detailed information that outlines exactly what documentation is needed to submit a request to terminate your Housing License and Meal Plan Agreement. When you are ready to submit your request, please bring it to the Housing and Dining Programs office or mail to Housing and Dining Programs, Anderson Hall, 4400 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington, D.C. 20016.
