Campus Host (CH)
On any given day, a Campus Host (CH) will work a desk shift in one of the residence halls, help set up meeting space for a conference, serve as on duty personnel during overnight hours, assist a Resident Director, Area Director, or provide administrative support in the Housing and Dining Programs offices. There will be approximately 35 Campus Hosts hired to work throughout campus (divided appropriately into parts of campus: North Campus, South Campus, and Tenley Campus/Nebraska Hall).
Campus Hosts provide comprehensive support to all aspects of American University summer operations. This includes but is not limited to; desk responsibilities for all halls, duty responsibilities, site crew (meeting space setup), administrative support for Resident Directors and other personnel, and administrative work at the Housing and Dining Programs office. Summer Housing services a variety of summer populations (conferences, interns, intern groups). As a result, Campus Hosts will be expected to work in a variety of settings and with a variety of clientele.
