AU ID Features

Building Access

For students living in one of the on-campus residence halls, your AU ID will allow you to enter your residence hall.

EagleBucks

A particularly useul aspect is that value can be stored on the ard in the form of EagleBucks which can be used on campus, as well as at select off campus merchants. You may add EagleBucks to your AU ID card in person at the Housing and Dining Programs office, online through www.eaglebucks.com, through your my.american.edu portal, or at any Value Station conveniently located on campus.

Campus Vending

EagleBucks can also be used at Select vending machines across main campus, Tenley, and WCL.

Meal Plan

Students enrolled in meal plans must use their AU ID card to use meals stored in their plan. Meal plans can be used at the Terrace Dining Room (TDR), Tenley Cafe, and the Tavern.

Fitness Center Access

For students, staff, and faculty, the AU ID card provides access to the Jacob Fitness Center on campus. Upon entering the fitness center, students, staff, and faculty must show their AU ID.

Library Card

Your AU ID card also allows you to check out books from the AU Bender Library. Please visit www.library.american.edu for more details about library services.

Student Advantage

American University and Student Advantage have collaborated to provide a convenient all-in-one service for AU students who are members of the student discount program. AU students can have their Student Advantage number and expiration date printed on the back of their AU ID card, and begin to receive great discounts at over 20,000 retailers nation-wide.
