Housing and Dining Programs will be holding a summer staff appreciation banquet on Thursday, July 31st to express our gratitude to our staff for all of their hard work. During the banquet, several awards will be presented. These awards seek to recognize the outstanding achievements and contributions of individuals to American University's summer operations.
Below is a list of the awards and relevant criteria, along with a nomination form. All submissions must be completed and received by 12:00pm (Noon) on Monday, July 21st, 2014.

Excellence In Service
This recipient should demonstrate honorable character and accomplishment in the area in serving students, parents, and outside guests of American University. The recipient should also show examples of going above and beyond the call of duty. This exemplary student should always reflect the goals of American University and Housing and Dining Programs through his/her role as a positive role model on his/her staff.
The "Go To" Award
This staff member is extremely knowledgeable in policy related to both desk and duty, and is confident in his/her decisions. He/she is excellent at assisting other members of the staff who may have questions or concerns and is a source of aid to all of those around him/her. He/she is viewed as a “go to” person among co-workers.
Helping Hand Award
This student is eager to assist in all aspects of his/her job, and often goes above and beyond the tasks he/she is asked to accomplish. This person will also often volunteer to aid a fellow staff member or supervisor in order to get a task accomplished. He/she is a good listener and is flexible and understanding of everyone else on the team.
This student personifies the ability to take everything with a smile and stay calm and collected. He/she is willing to joke with staff members and guests, and brings a relaxed atmosphere to his/her job consistently.
This group of students exemplifies the concept of team work by working together, solving problems as a group and allowing input from all members, and working together to solve both internal and external problems. This group can be of any size, from an entire staff to 2 people.

The MVP will be selected in each team's staff meetings before the awards banquet.
