On-Campus:
On-campus housing is available on a first-come first-served
basis for undergraduate students. If you are interested in living on-campus,

Please apply as early as possible for housing; there is no guarantee
that you will obtain a housing assignment, as assignments are given
on a first-come first-served basis, and on-campus housing is extremely
limited.
After you receive confirmation from Housing and Dining
Services of your room assignment for Fall 2008 you may move into your
room as early as Saturday August 16, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.
Please report directly to your assigned residence
hall. If you need to move as early as Thursday August 14 you will
need to submit a request on-line during the month of July. For questions
contact intlorientation@american.edu.

Living Off-Campus:
Housing in the Washington, DC area can take time to
find, so for this reason, we encourage all students planning to live
off-campus to come to campus early, before your orientation program
begins, to locate a place to live (see information below about temporary
on-campus and off-campus housing during your housing search). Students
in F-1 and J-1 status are allowed to enter the US in student status
up to 30 days before the start date on the I-20 or DS-2019.
