Discover DC Leaders
The Discover DC program was designed for students to get to know one another while getting to know Washington, DC. Since its inception in 2000, Discover DC has grown into an exciting program that introduces students to the ideas of civic engagement and diversity in the DC area.
DDC Leaders act as group leaders for one group that will visit two different neighborhoods, one on each day. The program starts on Tuesday night with an Opening Ceremony, a catered dinner in the Tavern in small groups, small group activities, and a bus tour of the monuments at sunset. Then Wednesday and Thursday, leaders go with their groups to a specific neighborhood to meet one or more neighborhood representatives, eat lunch, and then return to campus.
Each night, there will be small group discussions in which the Discover DC Leader will facilitate. On Thursday night after the group discussions, there will be a short break and then a slide show!
