This two-day program is designed for both first-year and transfer students joining the AU community for the first time in the Spring 2015 semester. The domestic student program will be January 8-9, 2015. Students joining us for the spring semester will receive a letter in the mail inviting them to register for January Orientation.
Attention Early Decision Students
Students who have been admitted for Fall 2015 will receive a copy of the Eagle Summit Brochure, and should not register for January Orientation. The brochure includes information about the program and how to register and will be mailed out in April or May depending on the date of deposit.
January Orientation REGISTRATION HOW-TO & FEES
The fee to attend January Orientation is $65.00 per participant (students and family members). Students are advised to bring additional spending money for off-campus dining and evening activities. The $65.00 fee covers two lunches, one breakfast, program materials, and activities. To register for orientation, please visit complete the online registration process at american.edu/ocl/registerforsummit. You can also access the registration page through your New Student Checklist on myau.american.edu.
REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS
Orientation cancellations and refund requests must be submitted via email to firstname.lastname@example.org and must be received by 5:00pm EST on Friday, January 2, 2015. All refunds will be posted after the orientation is complete and processed to the same card that made the initial payment.
January Orientation Schedule
Throughout the two days, you will hear presentations from your academic program, housing and dining programs, the career center, student activities, AU Central, the dean of students office, and the student health center. Parents and families are welcome to participate and have a similar schedule.
At the end of the program, we also offer a showcase of departments, student organizations, and off-campus organizations. You will be able to speak with them individually and get your questions answered.
You will receive a fully detailed schedule at check-in, however we wanted to provide you general information to allow you to make arrangements as needed. Please plan on participating from 9:00am- 5:00pm on Thursday, January 8 and from 9:00am-2:00pm on Friday, January 9. As soon as we are able, we will post a draft schedule of the day here.
