The conversation, moderated by School of International Service dean James Goldgeier, will cover some difficult questions, including "Where are we ten years after 9/11? What's changed? What hasn't?" The event will include a question-and-answer session with students and a small reception afterwards. Profs. Ahmed and Kessler co-teach the ground breaking fall e-course Bridging the Great Divide: The Muslim-Jewish Encounter. 10 Years After 9/11: The Changing Terrorist Threat

Ten years after the tragic events of September 11, the U.S. national security landscape continues to evolve. To counter the rapidly changing domestic, international, and non-state actor threats faced by the nation, the national security law community must be constantly looking forward to what the country might face next. This event will feature a keynote speech by Michael Leiter, director of the National Counterterrorism Center (2007-2011), and a panel discussion featuring officials from the current administration as well as academics who have helped shape the current policies and debates surrounding issues of vital importance to our national security. Co-sponsored by the Program on Law and Government at the Washington College of Law and the American University National Security Law Brief.

The 9/11 Unity Walk
Join the AU Interfaith Council and Kay Spiritual Life Center community for D.C.'s seventh annual 9/11 Unity Walk. Participants will meet in Kay at noon for a bagel brunch before heading down together to join the Gandhi-style walk along Embassy Row, stopping at various houses of worship celebrating interfaith understanding. Speakers, music, and prayers are offered along the way. Karen Armstrong, Arun Ghandi, and Mpho Tutu, as well as other international and local inter-religious leaders, are expected to participate.
