How to Get Involved
If you are interested in working on behalf of the residents to facilitate great programming, advocacy, and leadership training, we would love to for you to get involved in RHA. You can start by attending your Hall’s Hall Council meeting or our General Assembly Meetings on Thursdays at 10:30 pm. During transition times in the fall and spring we also have positions available through elections or appointments, so keep your eyes out for more information on those opportunities. In addition, you can get involved in RHA in less formal ways:
- You can attend programming put on by your Hall Council or the RHA Executive board- it’s always a good time and your participation can only make it better!
- You can participate in our R.E.A.L. (Residential Education for Aspiring Leaders) Leadership programs and learn more about how you can become a great leader.
- You can communicate to your hall or General Assembly representatives about how you feel about your residential experience so that we can effectively represent your perspectives in our advocacy initiatives.
- You can recognize the outstanding contributions of others to residential life by nominating them for an “Of the Month.” For more information visit http://www.american.edu/ocl/rha/OTM.cfm
There are many levels of involvement, and we hope you take the time to consider how you can best get involved. Together, we can make AU a great place to live!
