Transportation

Transportation will also be provided from the hotel to the conference for delegations that do not have their own transportation. For delegations that have their own transportation, complimentary parking will be available in the Nebraska parking lot across the street from main campus, shuttle service will be provided to the hotel. Delegations may also park at the hotel for an additional $48 per vehicle.

Transportation will be provided by rental vans driven by staff from the department of Housing and Dining. Transportation for Friday night’s entertainment will require the use of the metro bus and metro rail system. Fare cards will be provided.

American University is accessible via Ronald Reagan International Airport (DCA), Dulles International Airport (IAD), and Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI). Transportation to and from Ronald Reagan International Airport will be provided at no additional cost. For delegations that prefer to use B.W.I or Dulles International Airport, resources will be provided to help arrange your own transportation.

Shuttles will also be available from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport to the hotel. We strongly recommend that if you and your delegation are flying in for the conference that you fly into Reagan National Airport. You will have shuttle service provided and the airport is connected directly to the metro.

From Union Station to Embassy Suites: Take Metro Red Line. Follow signs from Metro Exit toward Western Avenue which will lead you to the Chevy Chase Pavilion entrance.

From I-495-Capital Beltway:

Take Exit 34 South-Wisconsin Avenue (MD-355) to Western Avenue. Make a left on Western and an immediate right onto Military Road. The Embassy Suites Hotel at the Chevy Chase Pavilion is on the right.

A $9 metro fare card will be provided, which is enough to get you from the hotel to campus through the weekend.  The Friendship Heights metro station is located directly underneath the hotel and it is only one stop over to the Tenleytown metro station.  There is an American University shuttle that runs every 10 minutes from the metro directly to campus.
