Train to Be a Mediator
Volunteer Mediator Training
Once a semester, AU Conflict Resolution Services offer offers a 20-hour Basic Mediation Skills course. The training takes place over a weekend and is available to AU students, faculty, and staff at no charge. Completion of training allows you to serve as a volunteer mediator, but those who complete the training are not obligated to become a mediator. If you are interested in applying to be an In-Hall Mediator, you must complete this training.
The training explores theories in mediation and conflict resolution, skill development, ethical concerns in mediation, the Conflict Resolution Services mediation process and model, and practical experience in mediating disputes.
For Fall 2009, the training will take place on the following dates/times:
Friday, October 9: 5-9pm
Saturday, October 10: 9am-5pm
Sunday, October 11: 9am-5pm
