Certified student leaders conduct training workshops for the campus community and will help plan ongoing outreach initiatives. This is a great opportunity to strengthen your leadership, public-speaking, and program planning skills, as well as contribute to AU’s “Community of Care.”

To be considered, students must be available for two semesters and complete all required trainings. In addition to workshop content, other sample training topics include presentation techniques, leadership skills, and facilitation strategies.

To become a Student Leader, you must participate in two four hour trainings. Additionally, you must commit to presenting up to five trainings per semester, as well as assist with tabling and other forms of program promotion throughout the semester (two to four hours per month).

Step Up Student Leaders will also help to plan and implement outreach initiatives, such as Wellness Cabana outings, communication campaigns, and other general programming - examples being social media support, graphic design, bi-lingual, outreach, etc.

In addition to trainers, we are looking for students to fill specific functions. We are specifically looking for a Social Media Coordinator, Marketing Coordinator, and Community Outreach Coordinator. Please note, members of the leadership team are expected to dedicate four to eight hours per month. Select the role that interests you below.
