Kids on Campus Day is a fun event where DC Reads brings all the students that tutors work with to American University's campus. It's a great opportunity for our students to see a college campus and what it's like to live where you go to school. Students and tutors participate in various activities that are related to the event's theme.
For example, the 2013 Kids on Campus theme was fitness and students got to do Zumba together, listened to a local author read to them and took one of her books home, and learned abut different vegetables and fruits.
Students get a free shirt, a book to take home with them, and the event is finished off with dinner for students and tutors.
Check back later for information on the 2014 Kids on Campus event and how to donate.
