To ensure that all new students are initiated into the American University community through a comprehensive orientation experience comprised of programs that complement one another and address students multifaceted needs.

Enduring Objectives
Coordinate all orientation programs and materials to produce a coherent whole that conveys the unique character of American University.

Ensure that the goals of specific orientation sessions in each of the colleges, schools, and programs are supported.

Collaborate with presenters before and after their sessions to assure continuous program improvement.

Monitor the orientation experience from the student perspective to see that it is holistic, effective, and memorable.

Coordinate the Welcome Weeks calendar and review Welcome Weeks programming to ensure a coherent whole that reflects the university's character and launches the new academic year in purposeful and meaningful ways.
