Make Your Voice Heard
Several Advisory Councils, Boards and Project Teams have been established throughout the University that provide advice and resources to the President and his cabinet members on a variety of matters related to enhancing the quality of student life at American University.
These groups are convened for the benefit of the entire American University community and we encourage you to bring any comments and suggestions you may have on a specific issue to them.
These Councils are comprised of key stakeholders that include students, faculty and staff; they meet several times throughout the academic year.
The Dining Services Project Team provides a representative forum for students and university administrators to ensure continuous improvement of the university’s dining program. The team focus is on sustaining a well defined vision for the dining program and a variety of dining choices for all community members.
Judicial Affairs & Mediation Services Advisory Board
The mission of the JAMS Advisory Board is to identify provisions of the Student Conduct Code that need further clarification and revision; provide recommendations for Code modifications to the dean of students and vice president of campus life; and work collaboratively to identify areas for further improvements and service to students regarding judicial affairs and mediation services.
University Center Project Team
The University Center Project Team will serve as the advisory body for program development, facility design and improvement, space allocation and use, and information display and dissemination in the University Center.
University Orientation Coordinating Project Team
The mission of the University Orientation Coordinating Project Team is to ensure that all new students are initiated into the American University community through a comprehensive orientation experience comprised of programs that complement one another and address students’ multifaceted needs.
