Did you know that...?

In 2006 there were 92,455 reported forcible rapes in the United States. (FBI Crime Statistics, http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/cius2006/data/table_01.html)

In 2001, 41,740 women were victims of rape/sexual assault committed by an intimate partner. These are reported cases only. (Bureau of Justice Statistics Crime Data Brief, Intimate Partner Violence, 1993-2001, February 2003)

Most research suggests that 10-20 percent of all males will be sexually violated at some point in their lifetimes (Men Can Stop Rape)

In 2001, intimate partner violence made up 20 percent of violent crime against women. The same year, intimate partners committed three percent of all violent crime against men (Bureau of Justice Statistics Crime Data Brief, Intimate Partner Violence, 1993-2001, February 2003)

1 in 12 women and 1 in 45 men are stalked in their lifetime. The majority of reported cases indicate that victims are stalked by someone they know (National Center for Victims of Crime Stalking Resource Center)
