The Office of Information Technology is pleased to announce the migration to a new voicemail architecture, known as AVST Unified Messaging. This system uses an integrated messaging model, which means you will be able to send, receive, store, and listen to your voicemail messages through your e-mail application on your computer or on your mobile device, in addition to your office phone. AVST provides one location for all of your e-mail and voice mail messages to reside.
To set up your new voicemail box, once you have been migrated, follow the below instructions:
From your desk phone, dial x3800 to setup your mailbox greeting and password.
Please Note: If calling from off-campus, dial 202-885-3800, press ‘#’ to let the system know you are accessing your mailbox, then enter your four-digit extension.
Enter your mailbox password.
The system will prompt you to now enter a new security code with length from 4-15 digits.
Confirm your new security code.
Record your personal name, via the instructions. Press 2 to begin recording, and 2 again to stop recording. Press 5 to save the name.
Record a personal greeting. Press 2 to begin recording, and 2 again to stop recording. Press 5 to save the greeting.
You are done! Your mailbox is now configured.
