Connecting to the AU VPN
Using Safari for Macintosh OS X
Safari is the only browser on the Macintosh that is supported by the Juniper VPN.
- Open Safari and go to vpn.american.edu.
- Log in using your my.american.edu USER NAME and PASSWORD.
- You will see a screen welcoming you to the AU VPN. Click on the START to initiate the Network Connect, where you will be assigned an AU IP address.
- The first time you log in you may see a dialog box asking you to trust an applet from Juniper. Click TRUST.
- Once you have logged in successfully, a small Network Connect window will appear with information about your connection to the AU VPN. A gold lock icon will also appear in the dock. You can begin to work, as if you were on campus.
- When you are finished, you can click the SIGN OUT button in the Network Connect window.
One application you may wish to run while connected to the VPN is the Prosoft NetWare Client to connect to the campus Novell network.
