Late summer fairs are a great tradition, and the entire AU campus can join in at Tech Fair 2010. The Center for Teaching, Research, and Learning; the Office of Information Technology; and the University Library are partnering to present this event on the library’s first floor during welcome week and the first week of classes, August 16–27.
Students, faculty, and staff can:
- launch into the new academic year with lots of learning and fun
- drop by for assistance with EagleNet connectivity and wireless printing, Wimba and Blackboard, SearchBox—the powerful new engine that will search 90 percent of the library’s electronic resources—and more.
Those new to campus and those wishing to brush up their skills can take training sessions on such topics as:
- e-mail improvements
- the new campus phone system, Avaya unified messenger
- introduction to library research
Trainings will be held in the library training and events room from August 16 to August 27.
The fair will also feature multimedia presentations on continuous loop, campus experts, who will be available to provide personal assistance, and a library-sponsored job fair.
Informational literature will be available.
Interested fairgoers should watch for more information about Tech Fair 2010 in the university’s Web calendar and Today@AU.
