Update: Office 365 to Replace Lotus Notes at American University

The Office of Information Technology would like to provide an update on the status of American University's transition from Lotus Notes to Office 365. Over 1100 faculty and staff have been successfully moved to the new email system so far, with plans to move over 300 more later this week. Migrations will then be put on hold from mid-August to mid-September, to allow for a smooth start to the 2016-2017 academic year. The project will resume close to mid-September and continue through the end of the year, by which the entire campus is expected to be on Office 365.

A high level schedule by department or school is available on the OIT Office 365 web site linked below. The site also includes Frequently Asked Questions about Office 365, as well as setup instructions and quick reference guides for those curious about the transition. There is a comprehensive communication plan in place for each group being migrated, which will include details on how and when to prepare for their transition to Office 365.
