Microsoft Office Suite Free for AU Faculty and Staff


American University has purchased a site-license for the Microsoft Office Suite for Windows and Mac, which entitles all faculty and staff to install it on both their home and office computers. (Students can purchase the suite at a special academic discount through the AU Campus Store.)

The latest version for Windows users is the Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Edition for Windows, which includes:

  • Microsoft Access 
  • Microsoft Excel 
  • Microsoft InfoPath 
  • Microsoft Outlook 
  • Microsoft PowerPoint 
  • Microsoft Publisher 
  • Microsoft Word



The latest version for Mac OS X users is the Microsoft Office 2011, which includes:

  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Microsoft Excel 
  • Microsoft PowerPoint 
  • Microsoft Word

AU Faculty and Staff may download the software using the DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE link under the TECHNOLOGY section, when you log into the myAU.american.edu portal.

Please Note: Microsoft Office 2010 for Windows is activated via KMS. For more information on KMS, click here.
