Fall
Connections: Roundelays
December 5-6, 8:00 p.m.
First
Friday Series production.
Innovation
and tradition are in the mix for the first dance season in the Greenberg
Theatre. Works by guest artist Peter DiMuro, graduate students, and
faculty will be showcased. Sherrie Barr, artistic director of the concert
and director of the graduate dance program, has assembled the best of
AU's choreographic and performing dance talent for an evening of contemporary
dance. Barr takes the unusual approach of weaving a recurring commentator-dancer
throughout the evening's work, taking the audience through the full
dance-making process, from a work's inception to the final curtain.
