Book & Lyrics by Nagle Jackson & Robert Sprayberry
Music by Robert Sprayberry

Gail Humphries Mardirosian, director
Douglas Bowles, music director
Brett Smock, choreographer

A new musical adapted from the novel by Horace McCoy, which also became the 1969 film classic about dance marathons during the depression set in Venice, California, 1934 in the Surfside Ballroom. A gritty and poignant musical, the entire adaptation reeks of then and now evoking an odd symbiosis between the dance of desperation of the depression era and our time of reality television where people will do anything for money or a brief glimpse at fame. The production will tour to the Volkov Theatre in Yaroslavl, Russia the last week of November.
