Following American University's 125th commencement ceremonies, and the conclusion of spring semester, President Neil Kerwin addresses the campus community with a number of updates.

2011 Commencement Highlights

American University celebrated commencement May 7-8, 2011. Speakers included Sen. Dick Lugar, astronomer Vera Rubin, newscaster Bob Schieffer, White House economic advisor Gene Sperling, and Peace Corps director Aaron Williams. Campus Plan

American University's 2011 Campus Plan is a "roadmap" that details proposals and objectives to enhance and build upon our campus facilities for the next decade. An overarching theme of the Campus Plan is to bring more of our undergraduate students back to live on campus.
