The end of fall semester will soon be upon us, so I invite you to view a brief video message containing some highlights from the past few months.
This has been a full and challenging semester, characterized by new growth and revitalization of campus facilities; the addition of accomplished faculty and academic leaders, including new deans Barbara Romzek (School of Public Affairs), Jeff Rutenbeck (School of Communication), Carola Weil (School of Professional and Extended Studies), and interim librarian Nancy Davenport; and a myriad of election-related activities, events, and discussions.
The video details these and other recent highlights, including footage of Burmese opposition leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s acceptance of the honorary degree awarded in 1997, while she was under government detention, and the hugely successful AU Night at Nationals Park.
On the right of the screen, you will notice Quick Links, which provide more details about many items mentioned in the video.
As always, feel free to contact me at president@american.edu.
