|SUBJECT:||Campus Beautification Day
The 15th annual Campus Beautification Day will be held Wednesday, April 9 (originally scheduled for April 8, but postponed due to expected inclement weather).
As we prepare to welcome prospective freshmen and their families to campus over the coming weeks, I encourage you to join students, staff, faculty, and members of Horace Mann Elementary School, in doing our part to enhance the beauty of our surroundings. You are invited to participate in a variety of projects on the main and Tenley campuses and at the Brandywine Building, including planting shrubs, flowers, and trees, mulching, or general clean-up. Two important projects include planting trees donated by Casey Trees at the Child Development Center and installing plant containers and trees funded by the Class of 2007.
The Beautification Day schedule is:
- 8 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.: Registration, at Mary Graydon Center, Congressional Hall (Tenley Campus), or Brandywine Building
- 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: Campus Beautification Day work projects
- Noon to 2 p.m.: Barbecue lunch at Woods-Brown Amphitheater (prize drawing at 12:45 p.m.)
I hope that you will participate in this community effort that contributes greatly to the beauty of campus. Please contact Katherine Kirlin (ext. 2431) if you have questions.
