Fernando Alessandri is an adjunct professor of Film and Media Arts. He is an independent producer, most recently on, The Fellows Hip: Rise of the Gamers (2010). In March 2007 he joined Hero Pictures and served as VP of Development until 2009. Projects he shepherded there include an Einstein biopic, a modern retelling of the Count of Monte Cristo, a comedic spoof entitled, L.A. Coincidental, and a teen drama, Vanity. Prior to that he was housed at Once Upon A Time Films, where he set Associate Produced, Fighting the Odds: The Marilyn Gambrell Story, starring Jami Gertz and Ernie Hudson, for Lifetime Television.
As Director of Development and Production at Once Upon A Time he worked on such projects as the EMMY-Award winning miniseries, Broken Trail starring Robert Duvall and Thomas Haden Church and directed by Walter Hill. He also oversaw development and handled various aspects of production and delivery of another 14 titles which aired from 2003-2007 on Lifetime, ABC, NBC, USA Network, ABC Family and Oxygen.
He is currently working on a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Mississippi.
M.F.A. in Film and Video Production from the USC School of Cinematic Arts, an M.S. in Clinical Psychology from the Institute for the Psychological Sciences, and a B.A. in Political Science from The University of Notre Dame.
